Animal Shelter Tour - VIRTUAL

  • Join us on a virtual (pre-recorded) trip to an Animal Shelter. Students will have the chance to explore the shelter’s facilities and learn how staff and volunteers work together to care for animals in need.
  • We will see various areas of the shelter, giving students an inside look at animal care and adoption.

Description:
  • Galactic Quest: Our home galaxy, The Milky Way, is filled with 200 billion stars. Galactic Quest tours your student past the most interesting objects in our galaxy – stars, nebulae, star clusters – to learn how stars are born, how they are classified, and the amazing ways they end their lives.
  • Each program ends with a tour of the constellations, stars and planets that are in the current nighttime sky.
  • After Galactic Quest, we will be doing a tour of the Weis Earth Science Museum: a tour of Wisconsin’s Geologic History. This guided tour will cover minerals and fossils of Wisconsin, natural disasters, and the mining history of the state.
  • There will be a room reserved for lunch - Bring your own lunch along!

  • Do polar bears play? Join us as the LEGO Group’s sustainability team, Polar Bears International and Discovery Education travel to Churchill Manitoba and the Polar Frontier habitat at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in search of polar bears at play!
  • Students will meet polar bears and play experts as we uncover how arctic animals use play to learn just like humans, while inspiring students to use their voice to change their planet for the better.

  • In Winter Wardrobes, you’ll discover what animals do to keep warm when the weather gets super cold.
  • Dr. Zoolittle and Roberta the Zebra will lead you through this chilly adventure!
  • Take a trip to Montana to get the inside scoop on how the Canada lynx stays toasty in the snow and learn the secret of how an otter’s coat keeps it warm.
  • You’ll also see how you can make big bubbles and a yummy polar bear hot chocolate.

3rd Annual WCA Trivia Night - VIRTUAL

Description:
  • Join us for our 3rd ever…brain-busting, all topic, trivia extravaganza! Don’t bother studying up, the questions could literally be about anything! With Mr. Hazen as your host, compete against other families and students and possibly come away with fabulous prizes!
  • Signing up:
    • Those signing up should do so in “teams” or “families”. You can have as many players on your team as you would like (since you will be doing this virtually, the more the better!). However, please fill out the information about your team below and remember to login to Mr. Hazen's classroom with the name of the student who is your team leader on the day of the trivia.
    • Max amount of teams/families in this trivia will be capped at 15 Total. Please get your registration in ASAP as we will NOT be having teams over the max limit. 
  • How do we “share” our answers if this is done virtually? 
    • ​For each team, answers will be done in private chat as to not share the answers with other teams. This will be set-up the night of the trivia in the live lesson classroom. We may also have a “practice” session - Stay tuned!
  • How will the trivia be set-up? ​
    • 6 Rounds Total – (3 rounds per half)
    • Halftime Question and Final Risker Question (that can be wagered using your accrued points)
    • 2 Minute time limit per question, longer time limit for halftime and Final Risker Question
    • Mr. Hazen’s determination on all answers given is FINAL!
    • A Trivia Sheet will be emailed in advance to team leaders. This can be used to keep track of your points during the game. 
  • What will the prizes be for our winner(s)?
    • Gift card prizes from our sponsors will be given out for our Top 4 places in the trivia contest. There will also be “specialty” questions in the game that will yield an additional prize.

Description:
  • You and your whole family will love Nordic Mountain’s fabulous Tubing Park.
  • The main tubing park and smaller hill for riders under 42" offer exciting winter fun for people of all ages and sizes. Simply ride to the top of the hill using our magic carpet conveyor lift. Then, slide down one of the many chutes at speeds approaching 40mph! Form a family train or have a race to the bottom.
  • The park is designed to be one of the most exciting tubing experiences around, while making sure it is as safe as possible. It features over 100 feet of vertical drop, a ride more than four football fields long, and lots of large rollers to add even more thrills to your riding adventure. We’ll see you there.

  • Hop on the Magic School Bus for a ride in this new musical adaptation based on the original book series published by Scholastic.
  • When the class gets lost on the way to the planetarium, Ms. Frizzle saves the day by blasting into outer space for an epic interplanetary field trip! But when rivalries both old and new threaten to tear the students apart, our young heroes must learn to pull together or risk getting forever lost in the solar system. Families must arrive at designated time.
  • Late arrivals may not be allowed admittance. Pleased make WCA aware ahead of time of any special seating or hearing device requirements.
